Senior citizen from MisOr elected first OSCA league national president

CAPITOL COMPOUND, Misamis Oriental, Aug. 11 -- A senior citizen from the province of Misamis Oriental was elected as the first National President of the League of OSCA Heads of the Philippines for 2017.
The Provincial Government congratulated and awarded a plaque dubbed as "Daghang Salamat Award" to Benjamin B. Medina, Sr. for giving honors and prestige to the province of Misamis Oriental for being elected such the highest post to lead the senior citizens in the whole country.
The election was held on June 14, 2017 in Manila at the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) central office.
Emelia P. Andea, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) head, said Col. Natalio R. Llares, Jr., President of Misamis Oriental Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (MOFSCAP), was also awarded a plaque as Capitol's gratitude and deep appreciation for his dedication and commitment to the implementation of programs and services for the Senior Citizens dubbed as "Ginikanan Ko, Pinangga Ko" of Governor Bambi Emano, which become a model to the other local government units (LGU) to adopt and replicate the same program in their provinces and cities.
Medina is a native of Laguindingan town, while Llares is from the municipality of Lugait. Both elderlies were given awards during the weekly flag-raising rite in the Capitol, August 7. (PIO MisOr)
