BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar, July 6 (PIA) - - Health Officer Ramona Eloisa Cervales during the Nutrition Month celebration in the biggest school in Borongan urged the children and their parents to start to plant now.
Cervales is a member of the Health and Nutrition Unit of the DepEd Borongan City Division. She delivered the key message in July 6, as Eugenio S. Daza Pilot Elementary School launched Nutrition Month.
"Magsimula na kayong magtanim bukas, umpisahan niyo ng talbos ng kamote at kangkong na madaling tumubo at hindi mahirap alagaan," (Let us start to plant tomorrow then, start with kamote and kangkong, they grow easily), said Cervales.
Cervales was talking to some 2,300 pupils of the Eugenio S Daza Pilot Elementary School after the students paraded around town, donning headdresses of fruits and vegetables. Others brought real vegetables like sitaw, okra, malunggay, eggplants and fruits like avocado, apples, oranges and grapes.
Some carried their slogans which revolved around the theme: Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon ang Aanihin.
