HONG KONG - Hong Kong Airlines has expanded its international network with the launch of a new daily direct service to Sydney, Australia, set to begin on 20 June 2025. This new route makes the carrier the second Hong Kong-based airline to offer direct flights to the popular destination, a move aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and increasing market competition.
The Sydney service is the airline's second Australian destination this year, following its recent resumption of seasonal flights to the Gold Coast on 17 January. As a full-service carrier, Hong Kong Airlines currently serves more than 30 destinations worldwide and has been actively working to broaden its network and improve service quality.
In addition to the Australian routes, the airline has also reinstated long-haul services to Vancouver, underscoring its efforts to transform into a fully-fledged international airline. Industry observers say the new service not only provides travelers with more options but also signals the airline's commitment to boosting connectivity in the region.
With the introduction of the Sydney route, Hong Kong Airlines says it continues to position itself as a key player in the competitive aviation market, offering increased convenience for both leisure and business travelers between Hong Kong and Australia.
