WUWEI, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Przewalski's horse is listed as a national first-class protected animal in China and remains endangered globally.
Starting at the end of the 1980s, the Endangered Animal Protection Center of Gansu Province reintroduced a total of 18 studs of Przewalski's horses from Germany and the United States.
After 40 years of caring and breeding, the number of Przewalski's horses has increased steadily. By far, taking advantage of its geological and ecological edges, the Center has released 56 Przewalski's horses into the wild at the Dunhuang West Lake National Nature Reserve, and kept another 45 for domestic caring.
